Inspector-General of Police, Dr George Akuffo-Dampare, has announced a substantial reduction in Ghana’s crime rate, attributing the decline to recent initiatives implemented by the Police leadership.

Speaking at the commissioning of new 320-bedroom apartments for Police Officers in Tesano, Accra, Dr Dampare highlighted the impact of innovative policing strategies on community safety.

“We have successfully extended policing services to communities in unprecedented ways, bringing law enforcement closer to the people’s doorsteps. This approach has fundamentally altered our country’s crime dynamics,” Dr. Dampare stated.

He emphasized that Ghana has earned recognition as one of the most peaceful nations globally, underscoring the effectiveness of enhanced community-oriented policing.

Dr Dampare’s remarks underscored the Police Force’s commitment to maintaining public safety and fostering peace across Ghana, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s law enforcement efforts.
