The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and the Rlg Institute of Technology (RIT) have locked ties to lift ICT education in Ghana to higher standards.
GIMPA and Rlg Institute of Technology have agreed to a collaborative programme to advance and promote ICT education in the country.
The two institutions consequently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Accra to commence a one year Post-Graduate Diploma programme in Computer Systems Development beginning 2015/2016 academic year, pending a programme approval from the National Accreditation Board.
The programme would be run at the North Kaneshie campus of Rlg Institute of Technology under an arrangement that will offer?practice-oriented? academic programmes.
The focus was to produce graduates who are both skillful in the theory and practice of computer systems development through the provision of excellent training facilities in a conducive learning environment.
The collaboration will also provide tutorial and mentorship support for the practical training of participants.
Dr. Wiredu expressed excitement at the partnership, hoping it would further deepen the search for technology savvy professionals and academicians for the country.
He added, as an international institution of excellence, GIMPA will continue to strive to ensure strict adherence to standards, best practices and high academic integrity.
He was hopeful the partnership with Rlg will be mutually beneficial.
Mr Nsiah Mensuoh, Head of Rlg Institute of Technology, reiterated the commitment of his institute to ensure the successful implementation of the programme.
