
Accra, March 4, GNA ? All eligible members of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) could exercise their franchise in the Friday, March 8 elections of the Association with ID cards of their media organisations or any form of identification. A statement issued by Mr Ben Assorow, Chairman of the GJA Elections Committee said the decision was due to the inability of the GJA Membership Committee to provide paid-up members with ID cards.
The statement said: ?Any form of national identification such as the national voter ID, Driver?s License, National Identification Authority card, National Health Insurance Scheme card or passport,? could be used. ?The Committee has also decided that proxy voting will only be accepted by application. Interested members are to apply by close of day on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. The application must be addressed to the Chairman of the GJA Election Committee and delivered at the Ghana International Press Centre, GJA headquarters.?
