The Brong-Ahafo Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) on Wednesday expressed shock at the death of Mr Pius Agyemang, a Journalists and radio broadcaster.

Mr Agyemang, a staff of Shalom Radio, a Berekum-based local FM Station, and a Stringer of the Ghana News Agency (GNA) was among the 13 people who died in a gory accident, which happened at Akwatiakrom, Ahafo Ano South District of Ashanti Region on the Sunyani-Kumasi Highway on Monday, May 14, 2018.

A statement signed by Mr Dennis Peprah, the Regional Secretary of the GJA, and copied to the GNA expressed condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased.

“The GJA received the information about the sudden demise of Mr Agyemang with utmost shock and members are deeply saddened about the death of our beloved brother in the inky fraternity. Indeed he was a great pen pusher”, it said.

“We therefore assure the deceased family of our unflinching support towards his burial and funeral rites”, the statement added and advised Journalists in the region who are not members to register and join the Association.
