Record has to be set straight on the constant and acrimonious usage of the name of illustrious son of Oraifite Sir, Emeka Offor as the subject of vituperation by some mob of fiends who claim to come from Oraifite that they should desist from doing so as they are running the risk of further failure. The above assertion is as bright as daylight because when one keeps pointing at the wrong direction for his problem, his problem remains far from being over. Anaedo people are known for their industriousness, oneness and forthrightness leaving one to wonder where these miscreants come from and really nobody should be blamed for questioning their paternity.
Recently one Eugene Arthur Nwora that calls himself a chief joined the number of this renegade gang of people who are bent on constituting nuisance to us by alleging that he was detained by the police at the instance of Sir Emeka Offor for alleging that he (Offor) was responsible for his business loss of about 945,000,000 million naira. This was how one so called businessman (Boniface Okonkwo) residing in back street of South Africa castigated Sir, Emeka Offor for daring to donate one million dollars for global polio eradication or can one mention the name Mike Ofiaeli without losing appetite as he is such a hollow noise maker, running to media houses trying to bring down the man that does not know of his existence. These men and their other insignificant members marauding media houses trying to set Oraifite on backward movement like Boko Haram is doing to Nigeria, know that they have lost out completely even before they started.
When they lose out in business venture, they blame sir Emeka Offor, their catharsis are emptied on Sir Emeka Offor whenever they are purging themselves of repressed emotional complexes which is nothing but envy and hatred of why so much wealth in his hand. They can not understand why so much wealth and followership for the son of a retired policeman, a man who is not a Goliath in physical stature, a man from Oraifite where they claim to come from, a man who has the ears of policy makers and leaders of nations, a man with heart of gold for charity which has endeared him to tens of millions all over the globe, a man with deft business acumen, a man loved by his Oraifite people, a man who has succeeded where his peers failed, a man who has created thousands of jobs, a man with so much modest and unassuming background, why Emeka Offor, why him they ask?
Let me answer them by stating categorically that nature did not do him (Emeka Offor) any favour. He is like every other human but a man that has paid his dues through years of hard work when these folks trying to rubbish his name were sleeping and gallivanting alehouses and brothels. Emeka Offor we know still works hard knowing that is an open secret virtue many people like these band of renegades refused to imbibe. Oraifite is in Anaedo which comprises Oraifite, Nnewi and Ichi and anybody that knows Anambra well knows that people of these communities have hard work flowing through their veins and are noticeably successful people. So it is disheartening seeing some blokes who claim to come from the same Oraifite we know to blame the most successful Anaedo man for their business failures and miserable lives.
I have often wondered what could be behind this level of calcified hatred from this few disgruntled and grumpy men toward Sir Emeka Offor and was not able to think of any until I read an article written by a senior fellow in this pen industry. In his article, he argued that ?in life, nothing is as painful as seeing somebody else living the good life you want for yourself. A life of your zenith ambition and seeing another living it before you, generates revulsion in you that if not checked will be directed toward innocent man?. I think that observation is no truer than in the case of Oraifite renegades against Sir Emeka Offor. How can one be castigating another for donating to charity? How can one try so hard to rope another in his failed business venture? How can one be festering internet with horrific gory details that are pure products of envy and wickedness against one he claims to be his brother? How can all these be possible if not psychosomatic situation of stolen life. They probably see Sir Emeka Offor as a stumbling block to their success having reached where they only know exist in their eerie sense of d?j? vu.
In the gathering of Oraifite people which always take place every three years as ?Ora ezuo?, nobody knows any of these reprobates. This coming Christmas is another ?Ora ezue? in Oraifite and all are invited to come and see if they will find any of these rascals among the fold of our people. We know ourselves and know our idiosyncrasies which is why we disagree that these Oraifite renegades have our DNA. In olden days, the likes of Oraifite renegades are food for oracles but we are living in a time of grace which is why they are left to change or continue in their sightless self destruction until nature calls.
