Google announced the release of a new Gmail feature, and this makes it easier to integrate with the Google Drive storage service and allows users to send files of up to 10 GB as attachments.
Those of you who are using Google Drive to store files can now use the ?Insert Files using Drive? to select and share a file with other users.
This is not an attachment in the real sense of the world, as 10 GB attachments are not supported by most e-mail servers. This just provides a link to the attachment, which is stored on the Google servers.
Gmail is smart enough to analyze access rights of the recipients to prevent other users from accessing the files you send as attachments. Because the file is hosted on the Google Drive servers, if you edit it, the updated version of the file will also be made available to the users you shared it with.
This is similar to what Google Drive has to offer, however the new implementation is more comfortable for those who are using Google Drive along with the Gmail email service.
The new feature is currently being implemented on all of Google?s servers and it should be available for you in a few days so keep an eye out.
