The evening commute of Tuesday January 29, 2019 was very messy with snow and blowing snow in the Greater Toronto Area [GTA] in Canada.
Fifteen – twentyfive centimetres of snow which was the result of an “Alberta Clipper” was expected and it hit the area Tuesday morning.
Commuters in Toronto were encouraged to leave plenty of time for travel as the area dealt with intense snowfall and brisk winds.
As at the time of filing this report, there were more than one hundred collissions on the highways monitored by the Ontario Provincial Police [OPP] team, because some drivers drove too fast, followed too close and didn’t pay attention which resulted in these collisions.
According to Environment Canada, temperatures are expected to plummet into double digits below freezing by the evening of Tuesday and that residents should buckle up to brave the extreme cold weather.
For some years now, the dream of white snow during Christmas and winters are not being realized.
But yesterday, residents in the GTA which is Canada’s largest city experienced a heavy snow storm which hammered the city and caused several collisions and heavy traffic.
If you have a relative living in Toronto or any part of the Province of Ontario, please do well to contact him and wish him well this winter season especially when the area has been hammered by snow flurries.
Please watch the video after the storm had tapered off.
