Mr Donatus Achisiba, Nkoranza North District Director of Health Services, has commended health workers in the district for their commitment in addressing health problems in the area.
He noted that despite their challenges in the rural areas, they never relented in their efforts to ensure that health delivery services reached the people at their doorsteps.
Mr. Achisiba made the commendation at a Mid-Year Review Meeting with district health officials on Wednesday at Busunya near Nkoranza, to take stock of their performances to improve on their services.
He expressed concern about the outbreak of cholera cases in the country, and therefore advised people in the area to keep their environments clean, and eat hygienically well-prepared hot meals to avoid contracting the disease.
Mr Achisiba disclosed that two reported cases of the disease had recently been confirmed in the district, adding that the affected victims were natives of Boabeng and Ameyawkrom.
He said the cases were imported, because the victims travelled to the area from Abeka-Lapaz and Nii-Boye Town, both suburbs of Accra.
Mr Achibisa reminded the people about the outbreak of Ebola Viral disease, and urged them to be careful in their movements, particularly contacts with other people, and also avoid eating bat and other bush meats, which research had proved to be associated with the Ebola disease.
Mr Peter Paul, Nkoranza North Disease Control Officer, stressed the need for Tuberculosis (TB) patients to visit hospitals to access free medical care
