Herbert Mensah laments about floods

Ghanaian businessman, Mr. Herbert Mensah has reacted to the recent downpour which has caused a lot of havoc in the capital.
wpid-Herbert-Mensah-ally-to-former-President-Rawlings.jpgMr. Mensah is demanding immediate action from government to implement measures to curb the perennial flooding that occurs during the rainy season leading to loss of lives and property.
His comment comes in the wake of the recent rains which contributed to an explosion at a Goil fuel station at Kwame Nkrumah Circle leading to the deaths of close to 200 people.
He indicated that life is very precious and the loss of one life is unbearable therefore losing over 100 lives is unacceptable.
According to him there has been numerous empty promises made by various governments that are never fulfilled.
?Year after year we get promises that say, for the next raining season, we will do this and that and it transcends governments. Previous governments have said that and it gets to this time of the year of the rains and people get flooded, children die, mothers die and the poor suffers?, he stressed.
In a video posted on his Facebook page, the President of the Ghana Rugby Union expressed disappointment with politicians for failing to fulfill the assurances that triggered Ghanaians to vote them into power.
He said he feels sad as a Ghanaian to see the deprived and innocent die from disasters even though there are resources and the capacity to prevent such calamities.
?Politicians must just face the facts; stop taking it personally and accept the sense of responsibilities for which you were voted into power, I?m sick and tired of these empty promises? he stated.
