As we go towards the end of the campaigns to elect national officers and especially, national youth organizer for our dear party the NDC, it is beginning to emerge, who among them can inspire we the NDC youth to action come 2016.

As a member of TEIN- NDC, Some of us have no dwoubt in our minds that there is an urgent need for a change. Indeed the wind of change is blowing. We cannot just wait for it.

Some of us can see that change clearly in the ‘rising hope’ candidate Sidii Abubakar Musah. Everybody who has met him recently as I did, is testifying of his inspiring charisma, his generosity, his mass appeal, his organizational zeal, his ready-to-work attitude, his commitment and loyalty to the NDC cause.

I have met many of our delegates, especially the ones from the universities, polytechnics and colleges, and they are all excited about a new leadership come December 6 2014 from this young charismatic guy who truly epitomizes the aspirations of the average NDC youth.

Sidii Abubakar Musah is the only candidate among the rest, who has the diligence to put together a blueprint of his ideas. He has a published manifesto. No other candidate in the race can boast of any concrete ideas. Should anybody else be telling the delegate the difference between Sidii Abubakar and the rest?

Many of the young delegates especially the students are very excited about such seriousness and sense of commitment from Sidii Abubakar.

Without any issues to discredit him with, Sidii’s opponents are resorting to all manner of discredited tactics to lower his ratings but to no avail. The following are some of the unsubstantiated and baseless stories being used by his opponents against him.

That Sidii Abubakar Musah is not loyal to NDC because he was FONKAR.

But how can that be the case? Can we also say that Ludwig Hlodze is not loyal to NDC because he was GAME? If not, then let’s stop this childish approach to our politics! After all, neither Atta Mills nor Nana Konadu Agyeman – Rawlings is a member of the NDC today.

For those of you who don’t know, or who are pretending not to know, Sidii Abubakar Musah is the youngest member of the governing board of the national service scheme. He was appointed by the President His excellency John Dramani Mahama. I am sure HE took into consideration Sidii’s loyalty to the NDC as well as his contribution to the party’s fortunes in the 2012 elec

We want the most competent, selfless, hardworking leader for the NDC youth. We don’t care who supported who in the last party congress. We only care about who supports and works for JM in the 2016 elections.

Secondly, that Sidii Abubakar Musah during his campaign tours has been using bodyguards and therefore will not be accessible if elected as NDC youth organizer. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I have met Sidii Abubakar and his team on a couple of occasions. I have also interacted with many delegates who have met him. They all say this is a wicked lie.

Sidii Abubakar is a simple person. He walks only with two (2) people: one is a journalist volunteering to capture the historic moments with the party delegates, and the other volunteer on his campaign tour is an NDC constituency youth organizer, he himself a delegate, but who has agreed to drive Sidii Abubakar around the country for his campaign tours. The delegates know very well that Sidii does not need bodyguards to protect him from the very people from whom and for who he seeks the mandate to serve.

It is therefore laughable for those who have no issues to discuss to go about spreading these false rumors as if the delegates lack the common sense to decipher between black and white.

Delegates will be choosing between hard work and laziness in 2016. They will be choosing between hands on deck – ready to work leadership and arm – chair leadership. They will also be choosing between selfless and dedicated leadership and selfish and uninspiring leadership.
