As part of measures to manage emergency cases in the various public health facilities across the Volta region, the regional health directorate has sent an SOS appeal to retired doctors in the region to be on standby and attend to emergency cases as the doctors’ strike enters its second phase.

The official, however, assured that the situation is under control, stating that ?some of these private facilities and faith-based hospitals are well equipped to handle any situation. So there is no cause for panic.?
Meanwhile, Starr News checks at both the regional and municipal hospitals in Ho revealed the presence of some doctors who declined to state whether they are working or not.
Nonetheless, other health workers including nurses and physician assistants are at post attending to the few patients who turned up at the OPD sections with minor ailments.
