The former Mfantseman West Member of Parliament and former Central Regional Minister Aquinas Taiwih Quansah has declared his intention to contest the National Organizer position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), a position being currently occupied by Kofi Adam.
Former Deputy Minister for Fisheries made this declaration on Onua FM morning show ‘Yen Nsem Pa’
“Yes, I intend to contest the position when the nominations are open. I will pick form and contest, that is my next move in my political carrier, to be National organizer for my party” he told Bright Kwesi Asempa on Tuesday.
So far, what is not known is whether the current National Organizer of the main opposition NDC, Kofi Adam will contest the position but there are snippets of information that a former holder of the same office Yaw Boateng Gyan is lasing his boots for a comeback.
But the former Central Regional Minister said he is in the best position to occupy the national organizer’s office saying “I am a grassroot person and in all my life I have worked with them and I am 100% sure that they will give me the nod as the national organizer”
Now that there is clamor for new faces to lead the party back to power come 2020, couple with my love for the party, I will put myself up to contest the National Organizer Position of the NDC, it is now official, Aquinas Taiwiah Quansah, otherwise known as Shatta, averred.
NPP ONLY INCREASE KENKEY PRICE
Meanwhile the former MP for Mfantseman West said President Nana Addo led administration should stop taking credit for the growth of the economy in the first quarter of this year since the success story of the economy in the first quarter is as a result of policies put in place during the last quarter of 2016. He said the present administration cannot point to anything concrete that they have done to turn around the economy, questioning when the first budget of the government was past and implemented.
“NPP has done nothing new this year, what have they done to improve the economy before they are taking credit for it. All they have succeeded in doing is to increase Kenkey price, that is all. The major fiscal policy of this government was passed somewhere in March or April, so when has this policy started yielding results”
He posited that the Nana Addo led administration should stop taking credit for what they did not do and “that is what I dislike about the NPP”, they have done zero work so far and I don’t see the reason why they cannot tell Ghanaians the truth.
