IDEAX conference Ghana, an annual conference that provides a unique platform for Ghanaian entrepreneurs to present their leading innovations and business ideas to potential investors and attract the needed start up investor funding to implement their ideas, is scheduled to be held at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra on Friday, September 21.

The conference provides a unique opportunity for young Ghanaian entrepreneurs and graduates to come up with business ideas and projects (with the potential to impact positively on our society) and gain investor funding for their business. The conference will inspire the youth to take up entrepreneurship.

Ideax challenge conference was initiated with a preliminary conference in August 2011 in Accra which saw the discovery of 16 young Ghanaian entrepreneurial projects and the participation of Ghana Growth Capital fund, an investment firm in Ghana.

During the first quarter of this year, three of the projects have gained exposure to launch and commence business and are making tremendous progress.

They include: Saya Mobile which is a cross platform chat application that allows one to send messages without paying for sms. Saya supports Java, Blackberry, Android and iPhones- (http://www.saya.im/main/index.php)

Bravehearts Expeditions, a Ghanaian expeditions company that organises corporate and institutional expeditions is another project that has gained exposure- (http://www.braveheartsexpeditions.org/)

Another business project is Myschoolchopbox; which is an initiative to help parents send provisions and other necessities to their wards on campus. They also undertake courier services to various secondary schools and university campuses- (http://www.schoolchopbox.com)

This year the event will attract extensive participation from all the tertiary institutions and universities in Ghana in collaboration with Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and the general business community.

The launch will be attended by Mr. Aaron Badza of TF Financial Services, the CEO of Ghana Growth Fund, and other investment analysts.
