Super Eagles forward, Ikechukwu Uche has promised to be more clinical in front of goal when Nigeria confront Malawi in this weekend’s 2014 World Cup qualifier in Blantyre.
Speaking to reporters at the mixed zone, Uche, who was awarded the Man of the Match award, said that Nigerians should be happy with the slim victory.
“Nigerians should be happy with this victory. Even though we wanted to score many goals, we found it hard and had to settle with this 1-0 win and our fans should be happy because we have three points and are now top of the table”.
He admitted that the players were still trying to understand each other in the new regime of Coach Stephen Keshi, noting that it somehow affected their performance on the day.
Uche however noted that improvements will come with time as the players were responding positively to the new dispensation.
