Inaki Williams in action for Spain U21 side against England
Ghana-target Inaki Dannis Williams is inching closer to Spain senior call-up after excelling for the European giants U21 side as they overcame Croatia in Euro U21 qualification on Tuesday.
Spain U21 coachAlbert Celades hugely depended on the Athletic Bilbao star for their must-win tie against Croatia which ended 3-2 in their favour at theStadion Kantrida in Rijeka.
Williams, born to a Ghanaian father and a Liberian mother, seems to have fixed his sights firmly on playing for the European giants as he has not publicly declared any intentions of playing for Ghana.
The in-form forward, who is dominating the headlines in the La Liga, has come under consideration from Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque who is believed to be interested in capping the 21-year-old.
While Ghana FA is yet to officially make a bid to convince the talented forward to switch his nationality to represent Ghana, Spain seem to be winning the nod to land him on senior level.
Though he does not hold a Ghanaian passport and has played for Spain, the FIFA rules allow him to switch to play for Ghana at senior level.
He will become the second black player to play for Spain in recent years after Brazilian Marco Senna earned a cult status for the country with his string of impressive shows.
