Jet skids off runway at Nigeria’s capital airport

A private jet on Thursday skidded off the runway of Nigeria’s capital city airport, an official said.

The incident forced the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to close the runway at the the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport for 30 minutes, Henrietta Yakubu, FAAN’s spokesperson said in a statement reaching Xinhua.

She said no casualty was recorded in the incident, adding that the runway had already been cleared for flight operations to resume.

The spokesperson said the aircraft, being operated by Nest Oil, lost its landing gear in the process but all hands were on deck to put the situation under control and normalcy has been restored. Enditem
