Jomoro Communities Gets Potable Water

wpid-03-21-2014WaterDay.jpgTullow Ghana Limited and its Jubilee Partners have provided potable water to 13 communities and a Senior High School in the Jomoro District of the Western Region.

The package comprised mechanized boreholes, water treatment plant, five stand pipes and two polytanks to each of the beneficiary communities.

The beneficiaries include Jaway, Anlomatuope, Mpasem, Mangyea and Effasu,

Others are Newtown, Ehoaka, Twenen, Agyeza, Kengen, Allengenzuley, Ellonyi, Ezinlibo and Annor Adjaye Senior High School.

The project is expected to be completed in September this year to resolve the acute water shortage experienced by the people in the area.

Mr. Sylvester Noumah Daddieh, District Chief Executive of the area, made this known at the first ordinary meeting of the fourth session of the sixth assembly at Half-Assini.

He said Source Ghana; a non-governmental organization is also supporting the Assembly with equipment so that the District Water and Sanitation Team could test water quality in the area.

He said the staff of the Water and Sanitation Unit had been trained to manage the new equipment effectively.
