The JTF is conducting a house-to-house search for weapons in the border town

A curfew has been imposed on Mubi in Adamawa as soldiers and policemen of the Joint Task Force (JTF) commenced a house-to-house search for weapons and gunmen.
Shops and other businesses in the commercial border town had been shut.
Sunday service was also affected as many worshippers stayed at home.
“The curfew started on Saturday afternoon in some parts of the town but this Sunday morning there was public announcement directing everyone to stay at home,” said Ahmad Sajoh, a staff of the Adamawa State University in Mubi.
The curfew has made movement in and out of the town difficult.
Efforts to get officials of the JTF comment on the exercise did not yield positive results.
Mubi recently witnessed series of gun attacks and explosions, resulting to loss of lives and destruction of property.
The latest attack last week, led to the killing of the Acting Chairman of Maiha Local Government Council, Lawan Datti, who was shot by gunmen at his residence.
