Sushi King Kenny Kunene is, according to City Press heading for a divorce.
The ex-convict, who is now a self-made millionaire and is known for munching on sushi from the bare bodies of gorgeous models, has confirmed to the newspaper that he and his wife Mathato are going through divorce proceedings as “they have different visions in life”.
Rumours of a separation between the couple started in 2011, after it was alleged that he had an affair with a radio presenter and after he was seen sharing a bed with three Swazi girls on his reality show So What ?
The decision will be broadcast on Monday’s episode of the show on e.tv.
However, the Sushi King told City Press he was sad about the end of his 16-year marriage. Although he denied that his partying and the strings of groupies who followed him were to blame, he said their understanding was that he liked to have parties, and she liked to be with the children and to attend church.
He added that he was ‘devastated’ when Mathato told him she wanted a divorce. He ‘went for two weeks without even shaving [his ] head and beard’.
Mathato is apparently pleased that their split was cordial, and Kenny has also said the happiness of his children is all-important. He added that Mathato had not married him for money, and so declined a ‘blank cheque’ he had offered her: ‘she only wanted to keep the house that she lives in and wanted me to continue to pay for her car…I’m also going to continue supporting [his] children.’
