Kenya's security forces are pursuing Al-Shabaab militants who killed a soldier and injured six others by a roadside improvised explosive device in the border region, an official says.
The militants targeted a military convoy on Monday in Hulugho near the border with Somalia.
North Eastern Regional Coordinator, Mohamud Saleh, on Thursday said both land and aerial operations have been launched for the manhunt.
“There was contact fire between the militants and the Kenyan security personnel at Dekeharja, 15 kms from Hulugho town but they managed to escape,” he said.
He said the militants might be trying to escape into Somalia. Enditem
