Information reaching Spy Ghana indicate that, the Police have mounted a search for the killer of the District Chief Executive of Nkwanta South,?Hon. Peter Kojo Kenyenso who was shot dead on Monday evening when he was returning from work.
According to unconfirmed report, he was shot by an unidentified gun man at a close range from his back when he stepped out of his car.
Member of Parliament for the area, Gershon Gbediame who confirmed this, said the Police are trying to hunt down the DCE?s killers.
?I was with him the whole day, we only departed about 5pm. I am very sad,? he narrated.
Speaking to Citi News, Mr. Gbediame also revealed that, ?there is tension in the town as I speak to you. I have called for military enforcement to prevent any reprisal attack.?
Nkwanta South District is one of the twenty five (25) Municipalities and Districts in the Volta Region of Ghana. The District is located in the northern ? most part of the Region. It lies between latitudes 7 30? and 8 45? North and longitude 0 10? and 0 45? East.
The district is bounded to the north by the Nkwanta North District, to the south by the Kadjebi District, to the East by the Republic of Togo and to the West by? Krachi East District.
Nkwanta South District was carved out of Kete Krachi District in 1989. The Administrative Capital of the District is Nkwanta .
