The Kpone-Katamanso District Assembly (KKDA) in the Greater Accra Region has held a day’s dialogue with stakeholders in the Nmlistakpo Electoral area.
The dialogue, which was organized by Mr Daniel Cudjo, Assembly Member for the area, was to provide the platform for the KKDA to engage residents and landlords’ associations on its Action Plans for 2017 with emphasis on development, justice and security.
Mr Cudjo indicated that efforts had been made to ensure the construction of a police station and a health post to enhance community safety and security as well as health care.
He appealed to residents and organizations in the area to assist the Assembly to provide the area with the needed amenities.
Alhaji Mohammed Yakubu, District Coordinating Director of KKDA, said the Assembly would not relent on the implementation of
sanitation bye-laws as filth was engulfing the District.
Alhaji Yakubu therefore urged residents to observe good sanitation practices including desisting from channeling household waste water onto the streets especially from their manholes.
He noted that the practice, apart from destroying the roads, could also spread communicable diseases.
Mr Noble Atsu Ahadzi, Kpone-Katamanso District Budget Officer, explained to residents how funds were sourced and used for developmental projects within the district.
Mr, Ahadzi encouraged members to regularise properties and pay their property rates to enable the Assembly get the needed funds to develop the community.
