Lawmakers summon Dangote, Sanusi and Otedola

As probe into capital market crash continues

After a brief hiatus, the House of Representatives committe probing the decline of the capital market will resume its sitting by 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

They have summoned the heads and previous heads of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), business tycoons and ex-bank chiefs.

The committee is expected to be chaired by Ibrahim Elsudi after the previous chairman, Herman Tembe resigned becauses of bribery allegations levelled against him and some members of the committee by the Director General of SEC, Arunma Oteh.
The Governor of the Central Bank, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; former MD of Intercontinental Bank, Erastus Akingbola; his Zenith Bank counterpart, Jim Ovia; and a former DG of the NSE, Ndidi Okereke-Onyuike are scheduled to appear before the committee.
Also expected are Charles Soludo, Tony Elumelu, Cecilia Ibru, Femi Otedola, Oba Otudeko, Aliko Dangote and Albert Okumagba.
The committee also extended invites to two former SEC DG’s, Musa Alfaki and Suleyman Ndanusa.
