Painstaking investigations have revealed Former Member of Parliament for Ejura, Alhaji Mohammed Yussif Pangabu is owing the Ashanti Regional branch of Local Entrepreneur Skills Development Project (LESDEP) a colossal amount of USD35,000,00 equivalent to about 700,000,00 million old Ghana Cedis.
Evidence? shows that during the run up to the 2012 General presidential and Parliamentary elections the legislator went to the regional department of LESDEP and ‘lobbied’ 5 tricycles, 5 trucks, and 10 sewing machines, claiming it as an urgent reaction to counter the action of some dissatisfied youth in the area.He made the LESDEP officials believed the items were to be given to some unemployed grass root supporters of NDC party.
The Municipal Coordinator confirmed the indebtedness and lamented wildly on how it affected the projects in large fraction.
The 5 tricycles are said to have costed GH165,000,00(3,300 for each), the truck also cost GH111,000,00 and the five is totaled at GH550,000,00. It however appeared the MP singularly and personally made use of the items as not a single person has been found to have benefited in the whole municipality.
Concrete information suggests that Alhaji Pangabu after using the items to make good harvests from his dozens farm hectares, sold some as far in the north whiles given the remaining freely to family and friends who after plucking huge gains and still felt reluctant to maintained them, decided to park them as ‘gods’ in their various abode. Plot 7B BLT 1 (Saboline) is one of the numerous ‘sacred places’ in the municipal where these machines are dumped.
The sewing machines we are told were fairly shared to ‘Busanga’ ladies to barred them from daily ‘chop money’ visits to the ‘Santa Claus’ parliamentarian.
Many questions have been left wondering on the minds of people as to why the project officials are not interested in pursuing the matter. It seems the whole saga is more than meet the eye.
