On Dec. 5, NOC announced the shutting down of the El-Feel oilfield, describing the closure of the valve as a “criminal attempt to disturb the work of NOC.”
The El-Feel oilfield has a maximum production capacity of about 75,000 barrels of crude oil per day, while the daily oil production of the country is more than 1.2 million barrels, according to the NOC.
On Nov. 27, NOC announce to shut down the El-Feel because of the ongoing military action nearby. The facility was reopened on the next day as the east-based army took control of it and expelled an armed group that attacked it.
