The beneficiary hospitals were the Ejura government hospital, the Juaso government hospital, Ejisu hospital and the Bomfa Achiase Health centre.

The items presented included hospital beds, mattresses, wheelchairs, breathing circuits, catheters, gloves, syringes and stabilisers.
Already the foundation has presented medical supplies to three hospitals in the region namely the St Patrick hospital at Offinso, Manso Nkwanta and the Mampong hospitals.
The latest presentation brings to seven the number of health facilities, which have soo far benefited from the generousity of the Lordina Foundation in the region during the second half of this year.
Presenting the items, the First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama gave the assurance that the foundation would continue to support vulnerable communities, especially women and children across the country.
She said it was her conviction that health personnel should be provided with logistics, equipment and medical supplies to enhance their capability of fulfilling their obligations to their patients.
Mrs Mahama said the goal of the Lordina Foundation was to increase health awareness and to support the government achieve its vision of extending health services to all.
She said in collaboration with its partners, Medshare of USA, the foundation had provided medical equipment, supplies and logistics to medical facilities in seven regions of Ghana so far.
She stated that as government continued to expand health facilities, without the nurses, doctors, allied health staff and others, those facilities would mean nothing.
The First Lady commended the health workers for their hardwork and dedication.
?As head of the Lordina Foundation, I have embarked on a journey to support hospitals and health workers with these equipment and hospital supplies to enable them give of their best and this is in line with our objective of supporting improved health care delivery in Ghana,? she said.
She indicated that the presentations were aimed at enhancing the efforts of the government to attaining a universal health provision for Ghanaians and urged the health workers to lead the way in the delivery of quality and safe health services in the country.
The Lordina Foundation which is the brainchild of the First Lady works also in advocacy on cervical and breast cancers and also prevention of HIV/AIDS.
Mrs Mahama said as the President of the Organisation of African First Ladies Against HIV and AIDS, and a member of the Forum of the African First Ladies against Cervical and Breast Cancer, she would continue to advocate measures that would lead to the combatting of the spread of HIV, especially, prevention of mother-to-child transmission, as well as the early detection and treatment of breast and cervical cancers.
The First Lady expressed the hope that helping communities and caring for their health needs, would become the common undertaken of all sectors, particularly corporate bodies as part of their corporate social responsibility.
For his part, the Medical Superintendent of the Ejura Government Hospital, Dr Manye Mensah expressed appreciation to the First Lady for the kind gesture and appealed to her to assist the hospital to complete its maternity ward which began sometime ago to reduce congestion on the ward.
