THE AUTHORITIES at the Mampong Babies? Home in the Ashanti Region are having a hard time in finding solution to the congestion problem at the place.

The rising number of abandoned children brought to the home in recent times had led to severe congestion at the facility.

Ideally, the foster home has facilities which could accommodate only 25 inmates but the population of the home currently had jumped to 33 inmates.

Margaret Addai, Superintendent of the Home, said the congestion challenge was becoming worrisome to the managers of the Home.

She was speaking on Kessben FM, a Kumasi-based radio station, which donated assorted items worth GH?20,000 to the Home.

The items included baby diapers, toilet rolls, bags of rice, assorted soft drinks, clothes and an undisclosed amount of money.

Kessben FM used its medium to gather the items to enable the inmates to enjoy the festive season, just like any other child.

Madam Margaret bemoaned the lack of space to accommodate inmates and the lack of potable water for the Home, as some of the major challenges.

She, therefore, appealed passionately to the public to come to the aid of the Home to help better the lives of the inmates.

Andrew Danso Aninkora, General Manager, Kessben FM, promised of his station?s readiness to assist the Home with potable drinking water, latest by next year.
