
The lead contender for the Greater Accra National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairmanship slot, Mr. Henry Ekow Manly-Spain has urged all aspiring candidates vying for positions in the party to desist from acts of sowing a seed of hatred and discord among the voting populace.
?Let me caution all contending aspirants to see NDC as an egg in their hands which when left can easily be broken, they should not for the sake of their quest to get political power sow a seed of hatred and discord among us? Mr. Manly-Spain appealed.
He entreated them to make National Democratic Congress interest transcend their parochial needs in the course of their campaign tour of the constituencies by ensuring that they do nothing to temper with the prevailing peace and tolerance that presently exist among the party faithful.
Mr. Henry Ekow Manly-Spain made the above statement in an exclusive interview with The Moment over the weekend.
He noted that anything that affects the NDC largely would definitely affect the country since they are currently in government thereby urging them to conduct themselves well to enhance peaceful polls.
Mr. Manly-Spain said that Ghana has been gradually becoming the beacon of democratic sustenance on the continent.
He explained that the old ways of doing politics where people who did not agree to the ideologies of others were subjected to a lot of attacks which in turn, resulted to fierce scuffle between them should be a thing of the past.
?Let?s based our campaign on issues and facts and desist from attacking individual aspirants with baseless allegations? Mr. Manly-Spain advised.
Mr. Manly-Spain explained that there is no way for any political party in the country to defeat NDC if there is unity in the party adding that no party can win election with divisions among them.
?We need to work closely together as one people from the same political party in order to retain power come 2016 elections? Mr. Manly-Spain advised.
To this end, Mr. Manly-Spain urged his comrades not to sit on the fence, but to put their shoulders to the wheel to speed up the party?s development and progress by helping the government to succeed.
?Please let?s bury our differences so that with a united front we can develop the NDC and push the government to deliver? he appealed.
Mr. Henry Ekow Manly-Spain is seen by constituency and branch executives, supporters, sympathizers and activists as a team-player and a unifier who respects divergent views, hates factionalism, selfless, hardworking and above all humble.
