Ghana striker Matthew Amoah has started a trial with his former Dutch club NAC Breda, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 32-year-old started the training with the top-flight side on Monday as seeks to win a contract and revive his career.

This comes after Dutch Eredivise side Heerenveen released the Black Stars striker when his contract run out at the end of last season.

The attacker has battled injuries since moving to the Abe Lenstra Stadion last June but has the chance to prove his fitness for the Dutch top-flight side NAC this week.

?At the start of the new season, it is important to test to see if they fit within the selection of some players,? NAC Breda technical director Jeffrey van As said.

?Amoah has obviously played here before and we wonder if he can bring what he did here a few seasons ago.?

Amoah played between 2007 and 2011 for all NAC Breda.

In addition, the former Ghanaian international scored 42 times.

In September 2011 the striker moved from the club to the Turkish side Mersin Idman Yurdu.

Amoah made only one appearance for Heerenveen in a Cup game but never made the grades to play in the league.

Heerenveen coach Marco Van Basten signed the experienced striker from the Turkish side at the start of last season.

Despite his failed stint, Amoah is a household name in Dutch football having played and impressed for Vitesse and NAC Breda.
