… Say, Physical?Attack On Henry Addo Really Occurred?
The News Editor for Metro Tv, Eric Ahianyo who was accused of attacking a Greater Accra Regional Correspondent in the Newsroom of the station denied the incident, but witnesses say, he lied.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident which occurred on Tuesday 14th October 2014 at about 2pm sent the whole newsroom into a state of pandemonium.

It could be recall that, www.spyghana.com carried a publication yesterday on an attack on Henry Addo, a Metro Tv Greater Accra Regional Correspondent by his news editor, Eric Ahianyo.
However, when Eric Ahianyo was contacted via his mobile phone, at 4pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, he put up a pretense and asked the reporter who called him to give him the day the incident happened.
When the reporter put it before him that the incident occurred on Tuesday 14th October 2014 at about 2pm in the newsroom, he further denied the incident saying, ?Nothing like that ever happened.?
Follow ups to the said incident revealed that, the incident really did happen in the presence of other News reporters in both the newsroom and the visual editing room.
Narrating the incident, an eye witness, said, but for the timely intervention of some reporters led by Frank Nyonator of the Metro Television Newsroom, the news editor, Eric Ahianyo would have succeeded in physically molesting the Metro TV’s Greater Accra Regional Correspondent Henry Addo.
The incident according to an eyewitness occurred when Henry Addo a Greater Accra Regional Correspondent entered the newsroom on Tuesday 14th October 2014 at about 2pm and with a humble smile greeted his News editor Eric Ahianyo at his desk where he was then editing some stories for the day.
But unexpectedly the News Editor, Eric Ahianyo, returned the greeting with a verbal attack, ”Hey you get out of the newsroom or I will drag you out myself”.
According to the witnesses, Eric Ahianyo then got up from his seat and pushed Henry Addo to walk out. “He then held Henry Addo by his shirt and trousers and physically attacked him in the newsroom in our presence,” a witness said.
The verbal attack from the Metro Tv News Editor, Eric Ahianyo amid shouts, drew the attention of other reporters and visual editors from the next door of the newsroom including the correspondent to the Presidency Frank Nyonator and Philip Okine, a Visual editor who came to the rescue of Henry Addo.
“This could not stop the actions of Eric Ahianyo who persistently dragged Henry Addo out of the Newsroom, saying he was the boss,” the witness narrated.
When some of the staff of the station were asked to share their views about the existing relationship between the news editor and Henry Addo, they expressed shock at the current development since according to them, there was cordial relationship between the two.
According to them, they suspected their editor might have develop hatred for Henry Addo because of the fact that he (Henry) picked an investigation on Eric Ahianyo’s brother, Godfred Ahianyo, who was caught up in conflict of interest position at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
They said, even though Henry Addo works under Eric Ahianyo as his boss he accorded him the respect as his boss, but Eric’s attitude towards him has completely changed ever since he picked up an investigation on his brother Godfred Ahianyo in the Korle-Bu corruption saga.
What they believe might be worsening the situation is that even though Godfred Ahianyo has been removed from the Korle-Bu Board, Hery Addo is still investigating alleged corruption of a GH?20,000.00 loan allocated to Godfred Ahianyo, a board member of the hospital from the IGF fund when he is not a permanent staff of the hospital.
They however indicated their reservations at the way and manner their boss behaved on that day by being bossy and physically dragging Henry Addo by his trousers from the newsroom, saying they saw it as an act of indiscipline on Eric Ahianyo’s part.
