The Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Police command has arrested a 19-year-old Mother for allegedly killing her three-year-old son after drowning him in a bucket of water at Bremen Brakwa on Sunday morning.

Phyllis Arthur, popularly known in the Breman Brakwa Township as Esi Agyanwa is suspected to have committed this crime due to poverty.

Superintendent of Police Emmanuel Baah, Bremen Asikuma District Commander confirmed the case and told the GNA that the police had information of the murder and proceeded to the scene to meet the gruesome act.

He said, the girl who is unemployed, had also been jilted by the father of the boy and when questioned told the police that she was having difficulty taking care of the boy whose body has been deposited at the Bremen Asikuma Hospital.

Agyanwa is in police custody whilst investigation continues.
