MTN Ghana has supported Fiaseman Secondary School in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality with a decoder, a television set and DStv resource centre, to enable the teachers to access relevant educational materials for teaching and learning.
The equipment would aid the teachers to access information on Mathematics, English Language, Science and Geography through Digital Content Education.
The support formed part of the Company’s 21 Days of Y’ello Care Campaign, intended to give back to the society and promote quality education across the country.
Mr. Simon Amoh, a Senior Regional Manager of the Company, in-charge of South West Business District, announced this at the launch of the 10th Edition of the Campaign, in Takoradi.
He said the MTN believed in five core values thus: leadership, integrity, relationship, innovation and the can-do spirit.
Therefore, he said, empowering people through the education portal would enhance the skills of teachers, in order to improve teaching and learning, hence the focus on education in this year’s campaign.
He said other schools and communities that would be supplied with library books and computers, included the Prestea Community Library, Nana Kobina Nketsia Information and Communication Technology Centre and the Abura Dunkwa Junior High School, in the Central Region.
MTN staff volunteers, would among other things, undertake various community projects such as the refurbishment of dilapidated classroom blocks, painting of schools and donation of blood, to improve lives.
Mr. Amoh gave the assurance that the Company would continue providing services that were relevant to businesses and the lifestyles of its subscribers.
The Headmaster of Fiaseman Secondary School, Mr. David Yaw Opoku, expressed his appreciation to MTN for assisting the School, saying the support would enhance academic performances of the students.
