The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has demanded the removal of Dr Haggar Hilda Ampadu, Executive Director of the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NASIA), citing alleged incompetence and failure to collaborate effectively with teacher unions.

NAGRAT President Angel Carbonu criticized NASIA’s leadership for sidelining trained teachers from the Ghana Education Service in favour of conducting school inspections themselves. He highlighted concerns over transparency, noting a need for quarterly inspection reports and minimal engagement with teacher representatives over the past six years.

“It’s essential to replace Dr. Hilda Ampadu with a more competent individual who understands the responsibilities of managing NASIA,” Carbonu emphasized during a press briefing. “Under her leadership, NASIA has neglected to meet with teacher unions, undermining collaborative efforts in education quality management.”

The call for leadership change underscores ongoing tensions between NASIA and education stakeholders, prompting appeals to government authorities for decisive action.
