Namibia gets helicopter to boost anti-poaching efforts

The fight against poaching has attained a new height in Namibia after the acquisition of a helicopter that was delivered Thursday.

The helicopter, a single-engine Squirrel (H-125), was specially made for anti-poaching activities by the South Africa based Airbus Helicopter Southern Africa.

In a statement read when the helicopter was delivered to the environment ministry, Linden Birns, who is the company’s spokesperson, said the helicopter can be used during the night since it is equipped with SX-Nightsun light.

He said the aircraft that can carry five passengers comes complete with a cargo facility that handle large animals. Enditem
