GFA Executive Committee member, Nana Oduro Sarfo and his family have issued a statement to thank all those who mourned and sympathized with them on the one week celebration of their late father.
The statement said “On behalf of the ODURO and allied family, we wish to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all sympathisers who graced the ONE WEEK CELEBRATION of our late dad, OPANIN ANTHONY KWAME ODURO SR, 86 years.
“A grateful thought towards heaven, they say, is by itself a prayer.
We pray the Almighty God to requite all that you have lost as a donation and prayer towards us during these difficult times. We, truly are very much grateful and dumbfounded by your love. May God continue to bless you. Thank you again (We can’t stop thanking you)”.
They also thanked the sports media present led by the president of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Most Respected, the Venerable-in-Sports Mr. Kwabena Yeboah for passing through.
“He drove all the way from K’dua straight to the grounds. Wonderful! And to our friends in the inky fraternity, We say thank you on behalf of the family, especially Nana Oduro Sarfo”.
The best part of the gathering was when it was turned into sports discussion with Tony Oduro and Nana Oduro Sarfo directing affairs.
Among those who showed their presence were officials of the GFA, some members of GHALCA, former players and supporters of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Accra Hearts of Oak, Black Stars, the Black Maidens and others.
The main funeral is fixed for May 9 and 10 at North Kaneshie
