The 37-year old newly elected traditional ruler of Amanuke community
in Awka Northh Local Government Area, Anambra state, His Highness Igwe
Dennis Ezebuilo has appealed to the citizens of his community to
embrace peace and reconciliation for development in Amanuke.
The Abuja-based Igwe-elect, according to his subjects enjoyed
overwhelming support from the ten constituting villages in the
community as a result of his years of outstanding philanthropy and
ended the protracted crises that had engulfed the sleepy town in
prolonged leadership tussle.
Ezebuiilo who was visibly loved by the citizens which was openly
displayed by the rousing standing ovation given to him when he made
his maiden entry to the general assembly at Amanuke town hall
passionately appealed for all to close ranks in the interest of the
community and her future generations.
He urged all the feuding community leaders to bury the hatchet, sheath
their swords and pursue peace at this time.
The outgoing President General of the town union, Chief Shadrack
Anaekwe who incidentally is also the state chairman of the state’s
ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) said that Ezebuilo’s
election as traditional ruler followed the strict transparency and
application of laid down procedure of the town’s constitution, culture
and tradition.
Chief Anaekwe expressed optimism that the usual acrimony that
characterized the process of electing a new monarch would be rested
finally now that a new traditional ruler has emerged.
He pointed out that the youthful Igwe, in fact the youngest in the
state, would be officially presented to the state governor through the
authorities of the Awka North Local Government Area in readiness for
his certificate of recognition from the Anambra state government.
Igwe Ezebilo thanked them for the confidence reposed in him, he
assured them that Amanuke under his leadership would take a leap
forward in attraction of economic and social development.
The youthful traditional ruler also called on all those that are
aggrieved because of one thing or the other to forgive and walk
together as brothers and sisters, pledging to run an open door policy,
where every interest group would be carried along.
A youth leader, Comrade Moses Afum, the Anambra state chairman of
Action Alliance (AA) disclosed that the Ezebuilo had remained very
useful and supportive to the community, sponsoring the town’s
vigilante group, schools and churches. He pointed out that many
indigent youth became graduates courtesy of the young monarch.
Afum urged the new traditional ruler to sanitize the community,
eschewing sycophancy.
