The proposed increment in ticket prices for Ghana?s crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Egypt in Kumasi has been revised on the instructions of Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah.

The National Sports Authority and other key stakeholders has proposed a 100 percent increment in the prices of match tickets used for Ghana?s last qualifier against Zambia.

Tickets for the popular stand were originally to hike from GHS 4.oo used in Zambia game to GHS 8.00 while prices for the centre line soared from GHS 7.00 to GHS 15.00.

VIP wings and VIP centre were to go for GHS 30.00 and GHS 50.00 respectively mainly as a measure to battling rising ticket racketeering during Ghana games.

The proposed price hicks have since prompted a massive outcry by fans and members of Ghana media who believe the increment is inconsistent with the general economic conditions in Ghana.

This has resulted in a directive from the Sports Minister to have the proposed figures which were earlier approved by his outfit reduced.

The new prices for the game in October 15 at the Baba Yara Stadium are as follows:

Gh 5   cedis POPULAR
Gh 10 cedis CENTRE LINE
Gh 30 cedis VIP WINGS
Gh 50 cedis VIP CENTRE
