Nigeria Nightmare makes a come-back

32-year old Peter hasn’t fought since he was stopped in the 9th round in 2009

Former World Boxing Council (WBC) champion, Samuel Peter, is gearing up to take another shot at boxing in a June 23 bout.

Peter, who was soundly beaten by Finnish Robert Helenius in April 2009, will return to the canvas on promoter, Don King’s June card which will also feature another heavyweight fight, between DaVarryl Williamson and Tony Grano.

The bouts will hold at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

However, Peter’s opponent for that night remains unknown.

The 32-year old hasn’t fought since he was stopped in the 9th round by heavyweight contender, Helenius.

Peter isn’t too old to win a world title, but he’s got to be steered in the right direction, away from the Klitschkos and giant heavyweights like Helenius and Kubrat Pulev.

The former heavyweight also needs to keep in good shape and trim down his weight. Being too heavy in a bout will slow him down. Against Helenius and Eddie Chambers, Peter came into the ring weighing 260 lbs and 265lbs respectively.

It is old news that he lost both fights, but to avoid ruining whatever is left of his career, the ‘Nightmare’ must keep himself fit.
