Water scarcity hits Edo community

Even as Governor Adams Oshiomhole boasts delivering quality service to the people of Edo State, some communities in the state have no access to potable water.

Daily Times of Nigeria has found out that residents of Agbede community in Etsako West Local Government Area of the state have after months of acute water shortage, appealed to the Federal Government to complete the damming of River Akele to end the age-long water scarcity in the community.

They lamented that non- completion of the project that was started over a decade ago contributed largely to the water problem in the area, adding that about 70 per cent of the project has been completed and therefore, it should not have been abandoned.

A 20litre jerry can of water sells for between N50 and N60 in the community, presently.
