The 2012 Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has released the document flagging the irregularities in the 2012 general election results.
According to him,the irregularities led to 1,340,018 votes being wrongly counted as part of the result of the 2012 presidential election. These votes were largely to the benefit of the NDC presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
Analysis and gathering of the evidence continue and the 1.34 million figure is likely to increase,he said.He also contemplated on similar irregularities in the parliamentary elections which might raise several challenges to Parliamentary election.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the NPP presidential candidate in the election, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, his running mate and Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey, Chairman of the New Patriotic Party petitioned the Supreme Court this afternoon to look into what they call ?rigged? election results.
