Nana Berafo Ababio, Chief of Nsesereso in the Dormaa Municipality, on Tuesday blamed Mr. Gordon Kwaku Asubonteng, the Dormaa Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), for allegedly influencing the siting of one of the Community Day Senior High Schools promised by President Mahama in Danyame instead of Nsesereso in the Dormaa Central Municipality.

He explained that the initial plan had given the green light for the construction of the school at Nsesereso, but that he was shocked when the decision was altered without consulting him.
Nana Berafo Ababio was speaking at a durbar of the chiefs and people of the area when Mr. Eric Opoku, Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister embarked on an inspection tour of the municipality to interact with the people and familiarize himself with on-going development projects.
The Regional Minister said it was the vision of President Mahama to provide social amenities including electricity, water, schools and roads to all deprived communities in the country to enhance the socio-economic standards of the people.
He stated that the Danyame – Nsesereso road project had been awarded on contract and work on it will soon start.
Mr Opoku said President Mahama had decided to support 10,400 boarding students whose parents could not afford the payment of their wards tuition fees as a result of a particular deformity or handicap throughout the country.
He added that government was not in the business of hastening the resolution of the power crisis facing the country but was painstakingly addressing the deficit in the energy sector, through long term approaches in order to avoid confronting similar problems in future.
?This is why the Chinese loan was contracted and part of it has been used to build the gas factory?, the Regional Minister noted.
He called on MCEs in the Region to make it a point to supervise development projects being executed in their areas, saying that the MCEs were supposed to inspect the projects and interact with the people, rather than sit in their offices.
Mr Opoku called for the arrest and prosecution of heads of second-cycle institutions who were charging unapproved fees.
He was enstooled as Mankurahene at Danyame, with the stool name Okunini Nyansafo Nana Opoku I, for his exemplary leadership and contribution towards the development of the area.
The Regional Minister promised to sponsor five college/SHS students in the area to complete their education.
Projects he inspected included a CHPs compound and Community Day Senior High School in Danyame, Library facility, children’s ward, the Presbyterian Mid-wifery Training School, Asunsu Number One and Amasu all in the Dormaa municipality.
Mr. Philip Nsiah Sawiri, Assembly member for Nsesereso, called for the continuation of the electrification project which was started by Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, the former Regional Minister, and the tarring of the Antwirifo-Danyame road.
