The science laboratory of the Opoku Ware Senior High School (OWASS) has been refurbished and supplied with vital tools to enhance the practical teaching and learning of science.
These include installation of new computers, a projector, air conditioners, flat screen television, fridge and a microwave.
The 1992-1994 year group of the school’s old students provided the funding to coincide with the celebration of the group’s silver jubilee anniversary.
Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, Bantamahene, himself an old student, at a ceremony to hand over the laboratory, said he was confident that it would help to strengthen the school’s performance in the science subjects.
It would boost the study of science to enable OWASS re- establish itself as real force in the national science and mathematics quiz competition.
He reminded the teachers and students to make sure that the equipment were properly handled.
Dr. Alexis Frimpong-Nimoh, the Headmaster, applauded the past students for their tremendous support and asked that this was sustained.
