The O’Reilly Old Student Association has embarked on a significant environmental initiative as part of the preparations for O’Reilly Senior High School’s centenary celebration.

Founded in August 1925 by Rev. O’Reilly Ezekiel Festus, the school is the fourth oldest senior high school in Ghana. As we approach the significant milestone of its 100th anniversary in August 2025, this event holds a deep historical significance for all of us.

The O’Reilly Old Student Association planted the trees on the school premises. This symbolic act not only enhanced the school’s environment but also symbolized our commitment to the growth and longevity of our beloved institution.

Leading Member Dr Francis Yebesi said the tree-planting ceremony underscores the association’s commitment to making O’Reilly Senior High School an even greater institution as it approaches this historic milestone.

He mentioned that the association has outlined ambitious projects, including the construction of a multi-purpose assembly hall, as part of the centenary celebrations.

He called on stakeholders, including alumni, parents, and the general public, to financially support this project.

Mr. Sulley Paa Alidu, an executive member of the association, appealed to the government to resume the construction of an 18-unit classroom block, which has been halted.

He also highlighted the land encroachment issue, noting that encroachers on school property disrupt teaching and learning activities, emphasizing the urgent need to address this issue.

Mr Paa Alidu urged the government to address this issue promptly to create a conducive learning environment for current and future students.
