Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu-Bempah has vowed to work against the New Patriotic Party, telling his congregation he placed a curse on the party over his 2025 arrest under its government.

Preaching to his congregation, the founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International predicted the party would keep losing elections and said he would not rest until it is destroyed. “NPP is not coming back to power, mark my words,” he said, predicting the party would lose the 2028 election under Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Owusu-Bempah said his opposition to the NPP followed what he described as an attempt on his life by people in the party while it was in government, an allegation he did not substantiate. He also accused the former administration of trying to imprison him.

The cleric was arrested in 2025 while the NPP was in government, under then Inspector-General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, and has said he received no support from party leadership during his detention and hospitalisation, including while handcuffed on his sick bed. He has raised the grievance repeatedly since.

He has issued similar warnings against the NPP and Bawumia before, including a prediction last year that the party would suffer a heavy election defeat, a claim other clerics have publicly disputed.

The NPP and Bawumia’s office had not responded to the latest remarks as of Tuesday.
