Passport problems are likely to cost Mbabane Swallows gifted forward Mike Mohammed the chance of a lifetime.

The big Ghanaian striker should have started his trial with South Africa?s Kaizer Chiefs last week, but could not because he does not have a visa to enter South Africa.

Mohamed has also been invited by another of South Africa?s powerhouses in black and white outfit Orlando Pirates.

It is at Chiefs, however, the recently crowned Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions, where Mohammed was expected.

?The player is so upset and worried. Obviously he is fully aware that opportunities like this one do not come knocking twice.  Unfortunately, there is nothing he can do about it because he currently cannot enter South Africa without a visa,? said a source close to the player.

?He needs to go back home to Ghana and have this issue sorted once and for all because clearly it will affect him greatly even for future endeavours. He has been hoping that this would be sorted soon enough, but apparently he just has to go back to Ghana and sort things out himself.?

Our source also confided to this website that they were currently working on trying to convince Chiefs to reschedule the trial period.

?From Chiefs, we were hoping he would also go to Pirates because they also invited him for a week long assessment period. However, everything has now been temporarily suspended until he sorts his passport mess.

?It is obviously a big blow to the player, but he will have to take it in his stride and not let this setback to get him down.?

Swallows Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sibusiso Manana could only confirm that the player has been invited by a number of South African teams for trials.

?Some teams in South Africa have shown interest in Mike and have actually invited him for trials. However, there is nothing tangible at this stage. Our supporters will be informed of any latest development regarding the player,? he said.

He would not be drawn to comment on the player?s passport problems. Worth noting is that Mohamed was turned back in South Africa en route to Zambia for Swallows? Champions League first leg game away to Zanaco. The player had to miss the game after the South African immigration officials noted he had no visa to enter South Africa.
