Blames loss of the region on judicial manipulation

Senator Iyiola Omisore, the former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, on Tuesday said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would return to power in the South West Zone.
Omisore said this in Ibadan while delivering a lecture at a forum organised by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Ibadan National Station.
His lecture was titled ‘Dividends of Democracy: Are Nigerians being short-changed?’
The former deputy governor in Osun said the loss of the PDP in the zone to the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) was a temporary setback.
Omisore claimed that PDP lost three of the five states in the South West due to judicial manipulation, while the other two states fell due to intra-party squabbles.
He further said there was no provision for constituency projects in the National Assembly budget.
The PDP chieftain, however, said lawmakers could only influence projects in national and state budgets for their constituencies.
