Unconfirmed reports suggest that a plane has crashed at the Hajj Village near EL Wac Sports stadium in Accra @ 7:20pm.
It is not clear if was due to Saturday evening’s rains or not and details on the flight are not clear.
The Cargo 1 skidded off the run way and crushed after trying to land at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra. The cargo plane was coming from Nigeria, eventually landed at the Hajj Village near the stadium.
Fire Service and Police personnel are at the scene helping to redirect traffic at the El Wac to Burma Camp road and to prevent the plane from exploding.
The four crew members survived and are receiving treatment but people in a minibus and a taxi died.
