Samia Must Withdraw Vote Buying Allegations – Delle

Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Prof Edmund Delle has also denied allegations of vote buying the the party's just ended primaries, saying that delegates, who voted in their presidential polls, are not sheep and goats that can be bought at the market.

Prof Delle who was speaking on Super Morning Show said, gone are the days when they thought that delegates were like sheep and goats that  bought in the market.

Prof. Edmund DelleThe defeated flagbearer-aspirant Samia Nkrumah and Prof Agyeman Badu Akosa have both alleged that party’s newly-elected flagbearer, Ivor Greenstreet, bribed his way to victory by sharing GHS200 and GHS500 to delegates for votes.

Notwithstanding the allegations, Prof Delle said comments and allegations of that nature do not augur well for the party and called on Samia and Akosa to publicly withdraw their claims.

“I’m confident that our former chairman and leader will think about it and come out with a public statement withdrawing this because it is not in the interest of the party,” Prof Delle said.

At the polls, Ivor Greenstreet beat Samia Nkrumah with 1,288 votes, representing 64.2%, as against the former Jomoro MP’s total of 579, representing about 28.9%.

Joseph Agyapong picked up 82 votes, representing 4.1%; and Bright Akwetey managed 44, which makes up 2.1%, with 14 votes, representing 0.7%, being rejected ballots.’
