North Korea fired a short-range missile into the sea east of the Korean Peninsula, a South Korean report said Monday, quoting military sources.
It was the first time Pyongyang had launched a rocket from the province of Chagang, 60 kilometres from the border with China, Yonhap News Agency quoted an officer from the joint chiefs of staff as saying.
It was the 18th launch by the North this year, the military said.
