According to them, Mr. Bavia?s outright rejection was a clear indication that the people did not see him capable of leading the development agenda of the district and any attempt by the President to impose him on the people will have dire consequence for the NDC and the district in general.

Their anger was registered at a press?conference?in Tumu, when the Sissala East Constituency Secretary of the NDC, Muftawu Fasasi noted with grave concern, that the attempts by some leading members of the ruling NDC to get the rejected nominee re-nominated by the President will not work.

He called on President Mahama to consider the interests of the people than any individual trying to use the rejected nominee for?personal?gains.

He said: ?The nominee lacks the courage and what it takes to be a DCE, he can?t make decisions independently and will be a stooge, who will ascribe to the dictates and influences of others.??

According to them Mr. Bavia from the then?Kanton?Senior Secondary School in 1988 after he allegedly led a riot, his refusal to serve a three year ban impose on him by the West African Examinations Council.

Mr. Bavia was accused of changing his name after the incident from Moses Hilla to Moses Bavia to hide his identity.

He was also accused of abysmal performance as chairman of the works?sub-committee of the Sissala East District Assembly as issues that are still fresh in the minds of most well-meaning people in the district.
